Victoria (C.-B.) Travel Guide 2026 — Gardens, Whales & British Charm
Blogue FlightDay·25 mars 2026·8 min de lecture
Victoria is Canada's most British city — afternoon tea, flower baskets on every lamppost, and a harbour so picturesque it's almost theatrical. On the southern tip of Vancouver Island, it's one of Canada's most charming destinations.
Butchart Gardens
The Butchart Gardens, carved from an exhausted limestone quarry in 1904, is one of Canada's most visited attractions. 55 acres of immaculate gardens — Sunken Garden, Rose Garden, Japanese Garden — each stunning in its own right. In summer the gardens are illuminated after dark.
Whale Watching
Victoria sits in prime orca territory. Between May and October, whale watching tours offer outstanding opportunities to see resident orca pods, humpback whales, and harbour seals. Tours depart from the Inner Harbour and run 3-4 hours.
Inner Harbour Highlights
- BC Legislature — free tours of the beautiful provincial parliament
- Royal BC Museum — natural and human history of BC
- Fan Tan Alley — narrowest commercial street in Canada, in North America's oldest Chinatown
- Fisherman's Wharf — floating homes, fresh fish and chips, harbour seals
