Calgary is often dismissed as just a gateway to Banff โ but Canada's sunniest major city has a booming food scene, world-class museums, and the legendary Calgary Stampede. And yes, Banff is just 90 minutes away.
Calgary Stampede
Every July, Calgary hosts the world's largest rodeo โ the Calgary Stampede. For 10 days, the city transforms with chuckwagon races, rodeo competitions, and free pancake breakfasts on every street corner.
The Stampede has been running since 1912 and draws over a million visitors. Book accommodation and tickets months in advance.
Beyond the Stampede

- Stephen Avenue Walk โ the vibrant pedestrian mall at the heart of downtown
